Winter Heating Payment

Winter Heating Payment (WHP) replaced the UK Government’s Cold Weather Payment (CWP) in Scotland in winter 2022-23. It provides financial support to help with fuel costs in winter to low-income households.  This includes older people, disabled people, and families who are responsible for children under the age of five or disabled children. WHP is awarded to eligible clients in Scotland as an annual payment regardless of weather conditions in their area.
