Funeral Support Payment
Funeral Support Payment helps individuals on low incomes cover the cost of a funeral. It was introduced in September 2019, replacing the Funeral Expenses Payments administered by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
To be eligible for Funeral Support Payment, claimants must be in receipt of a qualifying benefit and be responsible for the cost of the funeral.
The payment will usually cover the reasonable costs of burial or cremation, plus a fixed rate element to cover other funeral costs.
