Winter Heating Payment

Winter Heating Payment (WHP) has replaced the UK Government’s Cold Weather Payment (CWP) in Scotland from winter 2022-23 and provides financial support to low-income households who are also of pension age, a disabled adult or a family who have responsibility for either a child under the age of 5 or a disabled child, to help with fuel costs in winter. WHP is awarded to eligible clients in Scotland as an annual payment regardless of weather conditions in their area.
