Scottish Child Payment
Scottish Child Payment (SCP) provides additional financial support for low income families who are in receipt of a qualifying benefit, which is usually Universal Credit or Child Tax Credit.
Payments started in February 2021 and were initially available for children aged under six. From 14 November 2022, eligibility was extended to cover children aged under sixteen. The weekly payment rate was doubled to £20 from April 2022, rose to £25 from 14 November 2022, and will be uprated to £26.70 in April 2024.
